About Ana and Lumina English
Qualifications
I earned my certificate in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from Liberty University, which included 135 hours of classroom experience. I have been teaching for about six years to both children and adults and have developed expertise in phonics and reading, grammar instruction, writing and editing, vocabulary development and conversational skills.

My Approach to Language Teaching
Building Rapport
Building a meaningful connection with each student is key to successful language learning. Students learn best when they feel comfortable and engaged, so I create a warm, positive, and encouraging environment in every lesson. This is especially important for young learners, beginners, and more reserved students, helping them participate with confidence.
Individualized Teaching
I take time to get to know each student so I can tailor lessons to their personality, interests, learning style, and goals. Because every student is unique, I use a range of teaching methods and tools. I also design lessons around engaging topics to support implicit language learning.
Output = fluency
Talk, talk, talk! Many of my students have strong grammar, reading, and writing skills but struggle to speak fluently. Output is key to bridging that gap. Whether the lesson is conversational or structured, I use every opportunity to engage students in natural conversation—the most effective path to fluency.
